Pennsylvania's New
AGENCY DISCLOSURE LAW
ACT 112
Effective November 25, 1999
THE CONSUMER NOTICE FORM
The new law REQUIRES that any licensed real estate professional have a consumer sign a CONSUMER NOTICE. This form must be signed BEFORE having any any discussion with the consumer, whether a buyer or seller, about the personal/business needs and motivations of seeking real estate services.
The Consumer Notice is NOT a contract
The new law is designed to protect the consumer. However, it may seem to limit the amount of information you may receive and/or should share until you understand the law and how it protects you.
If you are a consumer seeking real estate services, you can expect to sign the Consumer Notice form which outlines your options for representation.
IN REQUESTING THE SIGNED FORM, THE LICENSED REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS ARE DOING THEIR JOB AND FULFILLING THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW.
